Colombo, July 02 (Daily Mirror) - Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply Susil Ranasinghe said that water tariffs will not be revised for the next six months of this year.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said the decision was made as the relevant board did not incur significant costs for water treatment activities during the first half of the year.
He said that water rates are typically reviewed every six months, but the government has decided to maintain the current tariffs for the first half of this year.
The Minister further indicated that there is also a possibility that water tariffs will remain unchanged for the next six-month period as well.
