Yes, payments done in Rupees to fuel suppliers and the increased value received in a flash, with the decision, yesterday. How efficient it is.

    Roshanaly Thursday, 16 February 2023 11:29 AM

That means, all these Power cut drama was to increase the Tariff

    Sarath Thursday, 16 February 2023 01:07 PM

It means that they can afford to use diesel to run thermal generators without making an even bigger loss.

    Mizaru Thursday, 16 February 2023 12:13 PM

So the problem was not the generation capacity. It was the money to buy fuel. I am wondering which oil exporting country accepts toilet paper as payment.

    Buddhadasa Thursday, 16 February 2023 12:13 PM

Is this increase going to fund power purchases from Private sector power suppliers at high rates. Auditor General please investigate. We know People became Billionaires overnight when they set up power plants and started supplying to CEB in the past.

    sam Thursday, 16 February 2023 12:17 PM

How and why suddenly? Did someone print dollars?

    pradeep Thursday, 16 February 2023 12:31 PM

Congratulations. Economy will bounce back. A very satisfactory situation. Cheers.

    warren Thursday, 16 February 2023 01:10 PM

I may be naive here. But how does increasing the electricity tariff result in a continuous power supply overnight? Shouldn't this mean they imposed power cuts on the public when they could provide continuous power? Getting an increased revenue in Sri Lankan rupees via a higher tariff structure does not mean they generate more FOREX to import coal and diesel! Am I missing something here?

    mp Thursday, 16 February 2023 01:15 PM

    We remind your mother.

    Patriot Thursday, 16 February 2023 01:24 PM

No need. WE will be staying in dark from today or cut down consumption by 80-90%.

PUCSL chairman should be ejected Thursday, 16 February 2023 01:29 PM

If PUCSL Chairman is the one who violate A level student rights by blocking previous tariff rises. Who will take action against PUCSL chairman so he doesn't continue to violate the rights to 24 our power by trying another stunt to reduce tariffs. Chairman is now minority, and should not be allowed the role when all other members are against him.
