Permission should be granted to private sector also to import COVID-19 vaccine vials, if the Government is unable to procure the required number of vaccines, Head of the Public Health Inspectors’ (PHIs) Union insisted today.
He told media that no problem would arise if the private sector is properly monitored by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), when importing the vaccines.
“There was a notable rise in COVID cases from factories and other institutions. Thus, the next priority group should be the working force. If the Government finds it difficult to provide sufficient vaccines and fulfil the requirement, it has to look for such alternatives,” PHI Union head added.
However, he said the NMRA, should grant the due approval to the private sector before they could be engaged.
“This will also pave the way for a higher vaccination coverage in the country,” he added. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Now the PHI union head has also assumed the role of head of the health sector like the head of the GMOA. Give these guys a mic after a year they lose their head and are more in front of mics than doing their job.

PHIs are thinking of making some money. Once the private sector starts importing they will import vaccines made of distilled water. No more free vaccines after thst.
