New DG appointed to Government factories department

Colombo, July 13 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. S. N. B. M. Padmasiri, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service, as the new Director General of the Department of Government Factories with immediate effect.

The post became vacant following the departure of former Director General Mr. A. Wijesinghe on July 9, 2026.

Mr. Padmasiri was serving as the Additional Director General of the Department prior to his appointment. The Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply to appoint him to the position.
