In response to New York Times article titled ‘How China Got Sri Lanka to Cough Up a Port’, MP Namal Rajapaksa today said the article has many inaccuracies.

“Acknowledging the Port is near one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes shows, why it’s still a major focus for the West, fearing China’s growing global influence. Country’s assets shouldn’t be used as geopolitical pawns in this power struggle,” he tweeted.

Dude, just highlight the inaccuracies you see. Focus on the facts stated in the article and do not point out why it is the interest of West. West has its own interest and they've their own opinions about China's global influence even though we do not care about China's high presence in Sri Lanka as well as our region. As Sri Lankan's we have the right to know how Chinese loans impacted on our debts. Whether you and your family benefited out of that money. Don't just say the article has many inaccuracies just prove it. It is a long report and it stated lots of facts.

This is the way we push out USA ENTERING Sri Lanka since they are just trying to get geo political location for strategic planning and needs. It looks like you had the opportunity to answer "if" there were any inaccuracies! The truth is, you deliberately avoided the chance they gave you to reply to these allegations and now making big talks via social media when the cat is out of the bag. This is the typical response of pathetic, slimy Sri Lankan politicians.
