Colombo, June 17 (Daily Mirror) - The ruling National People's Power ( NPP) and the Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) have reached an understanding to form the local administration in the Nuwara- Eliya district in places where no single party has a clear majority.
CWC President Senthil Thondaman told the Daily Mirror that his party has secured control of the Kotagala and Agarapatana Pradeshiya Sabhas with the support of the NPP.
He said his party will support the NPP to form an administration in places in the Nuwara Eliya District where it falls short of members, according to the people's mandate.
