NPP briefs Amnesty delegation about using chemical tear-gas on protesters



The National People’s Power (NPP) has briefed the delegation from Amnesty International’s South Asia Region about the proposed Anti-Terrorism Act, the disregard of court rulings, the use of tear gas containing banned chemicals against protests and the government’s human rights violations.

The Amnesty International’s South Asia Region including its Director Yamini Misha met with a delegation from the National People’s Power (NPP) including its Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, National Executive Member Vijitha Herath, at the JVP head office today.

The representatives of Amnesty International drew the attention of the NPP to the 2022 annual report of their organization on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka. (Ajith Siriwardana)
