An English friend of mine who is still in Sri Lanka has just sent me an email which reads “ spending the Christmas in this lovely paradise with fantastic clean beaches so different from India, and the view from the Lotus Tower is superbly better than my experience at the tower in Dubai from where you can only see the Arabian desert “

Good for these “Godey Gamey” types as this ridiculously hideous structure bears no value whatsoever, in terms of enhancing knowledge and productivity. An absolute waste of public funds, stolen or otherwise with little to no value for the money spent, putting the darn thing up. Far better, would have been to have built a planetarium, or an opera house which could have hosted international events, classical music, ballet, the arts and whatever else have you. Where so, with our people..? Good for nothing.
