Minor earth tremor reported in Beruwala, coastal areas

A minor earth tremor of Magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale was reported in the seas, 24 km off the coast of Beruwala a short while ago, and it was felt in several surrounding areas, the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said.

The Disaster Management Centre said however there was no threat of a Tsunami from the earth tremor reported in the Beruwala seas.
