Middle East conflict delays crude oil shipments to Sri Lanka

Colombo, March 17 (Daily Mirror) - Delays in crude oil shipments have been reported due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.

Speaking during a special press conference, the President revealed that two shipments totaling 90,000 metric tonnes of crude oil have been delayed despite long-term tenders having been awarded.

He added that a separate shipment by a private sector fuel distributor has also been affected.

President Dissanayake warned that such delays could disrupt the country’s fuel supply, noting that even a single postponed shipment has the potential to impact the distribution network and hinder efforts to meet targeted supply levels.
