Meteorology Department gets new DG

Colombo, July 1 (Daily Mirror) - The appointment comes as the post of Director General had remained vacant.

Mr. Wijemannage currently serves as the Additional Director General of the Department and is the most senior officer in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Scientific Service attached to the institution.

The proposal for the appointment was submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Minister of Defence and received Cabinet approval.
