While issuing a weather forecast for the next 36 hours, the Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre warns of continuous rainfall during the next few days.
Accordingly, the department said heavy rains of about 100mm can be expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, thundershowers will occur in the Uva and Eastern Provinces during the
evening or night.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
