Colombo, July 3 (Daily Mirror) - Former Minister Mervyn Silva and two others were granted bail by Gampaha High Court judge W.K.D. Wijekoon.

They were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over allegations of illegally selling state-owned land to a private party using forged documents.

Granting bail to Mervyn Silva was wrong. He’s accused of selling state land using forged documents — a serious crime and betrayal of public trust. If a legal loophole allowed this, it must be fixed. If not, people will lose confidence in the justice system
