Man, woman arrested for threatening, assaulting engine driver

A man and a woman were arrested for threatening and assaulting an engine driver at the Maradana railway station this evening, the Railways Department said.

They said the engine driver was assaulted for bringing the train to the Maradana platform at a slow speed.

The train left for Beliatta at 4.40 p.m. and reached Maradana station at a slow speed.

The driver had complained to the police that a woman and a man had suddenly threatened and assaulted him.

The Maradana police officers immediately arrested the woman and the man. They are currently being held at the Maradana Police Station.
