Lightning kills a child, injures two in Ruwanwella

A 12-year-old boy was killed and two more children were hospitalised after being struck by lightning in Ruwanwella.

Police said a group of people who were walking home after bathing in the Kelani River in the Mapitigama area of ​​Ruwanwella met with the tragedy last evening.

The injured were admitted to the Avissawella Hospital and one of the boys, a resident of Ruwanwella, died after being struck by lightning.
