COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) -The chairman of the newly appointed interim Committee to administer cricket, Arjuna Ranatunga said he and the committee will be committed to restoring Sri Lankan cricket no matter what the Cabinet decides upon.

He made this comment in response to a question raised by journalists on the reports which said the Cabinet is to take up the matter with regard to the appointment of the interim committee.

"Let the Cabinet decide anything. Let it decide to allow robbers to administer cricket. We will get on with our task," he said.

" We will put Sri Lankan cricketers into a winning position once again," he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe defended his decision to appoint an interim committee.

"I have appointed an able team to restore Sri Lanka's cricket. They have been given dual tasks. One is to restore the administration of cricket. The other is to build a strong national cricket team which could win games," he said. (Yohan Perera)

This man was appointed as the President of the interim committee when Mahinda was the President of the Country. He started micro managing the affairs of the cricket board and made a mess. In my opinion, this is a bad move by the minister. Both the minister and Arjuna should be focusing on issues not personalities. Arjuna has made a grave error blaming Maheka and Sanga for under par performance of the team.

My suggestion stay with Sri Lankans on the technical side since we have the expertise but for the Administrative side and Psychology side get outside help.Sri Lankans are poor managers left to themselves quarrel fight which is why that outside help is needed As for psychologists I think the talent is outside,You should also consider using new technology where possible when analysing data etc the Dutch did it?? At the end what is needed is a TEAM effort where everyone pulls in the same direction so man management will be critical for long term success

All is good, please do not bring your family members as advisors to posts. Also do not think that the 96 team members are the only ones how know cricket. There are many others Just because we won in 96 it does not mean all team members of that team are effective coaches or administrators.
