Colombo, June 4 (Daily Mirror) - Laugfs Gas PLC today announced a substantial reduction in the prices of its Laugfs-branded domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), effective midnight.

As of today, the price of a 12.5kg domestic cylinder, under the Laugfs brand, will be reduced by Rs.160 to an MRP of Rs.3,680, within the Colombo district.

The 5kg cylinder will be reduced by Rs.65 and the new retail price will be Rs. 1,477

The prices in the other areas and pack sizes will be adjusted accordingly.

Dear Citizens, Pls try to understand why Laugfs reduce the price ....they always do after the Govt., controlled Litro did it ... just imagine what would happen if both Co's are private... they'll just carry on happily like in Aus. It's the same with IOC where they reduce only when Petro' do it ......... NJ

Laugfs Gas came into the market saying they are a local company and want to give people a cheaper option as against what Shell was offering then. Later they also got together with the govt and increased the price same as Shell/Litro. Even the fuel distribution we have some outsiders in the distribution business. Getting these new players to share the pie with no advantage to the common citizen.

This is pittance compared to how much the price increased. Besides, the price reduction at this time feels like a slap in the face for those who can't cook due to flooded homes. Laughs is out of touch with reality.

Just for the upcoming elections. Be benefit from the price reduction, but do not vote for Wickramasinghe or Rajapakse - both are there to rob our money. Rajapakse is heavily corrupted, he even stolen money came to Tsunami victims.
