Colombo, March 3 (Daily Mirror) - Trade Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe said today that Laugfs Gas has agreed to provide gas supply continuously where they have entered into an agreement with Geogas Trading S.A. to purchase 10,000 tonnes monthly.

The Minister told Parliament that Laugfs Gas resumed their supply where a shipment of 3,675 tonnes arrived in Sri Lanka on February 28 and two shipments of 3,675 tonnes are scheduled for March 10 and 20.

He said Laugfs Gas has sold 4,000 gas cylinders and that they need 10,000 tonnes monthly to meet the demand, adding that the recent gas shortage resulted due to Laugfs Gas' failure to supply required stocks.

The Minister said the Company was strictly warned to maintain a continuous supply and that they agreed to do so.
