May 19 (Daily Mirror) - The Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, arrived in Sri Lanka last night (18) on a three-day official visit. He will remain in the country until 21 May.
During his visit, he paid floral tributes at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Memorial in Battaramulla this morning. He was later accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Air Force Headquarters, followed by official discussions with the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Air Chief Marshal Singh also met with the Deputy Minister of Defence and the Defence Secretary as part of engagements aimed at strengthening defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and India.
The visit is focused on further enhancing longstanding defence ties and mutual friendship between the two countries.
He is also scheduled to pay homage at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy and hold meetings with the Commanders of the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Navy during his stay.
