Police have fired tear gas and water cannons on Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) protestors who were protesting between Colombo Campus and the Thummulla Junction.

The IUSF protestors have been surrounded by the police near the Law Faculty of the Colombo University.

IUSF surely should have expected this ? They get this treatment everytime they start a protest and they don't either abandon or, think of an alternative.

Thunmulla is not within the area prohibited by court. The Police acted wrongfully and must be taken to task. In the live video it was visible that female officers were put in the frontline to get the brunt of any confrontation. Is this acceptable
