IGP Pujith Jayasundara has instructed the Police Intelligence Unit to probe the alleged death threats on Sri Lankan racing driver Dilantha Malagamuwa, Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had also assured Mr Malagamuwa that an investigation would be conducted with regard to the threats.

Following Mr Malagamuwa's complaint to the Police Headquarters about death threats he had received, he was summoned to the Western Province (North) DIG’s office to record a statement on this matter.

Police said further investigations were being carried out under the direction of the Kelaniya Division SSP. (Darshana Sanjeewa)

Why is it that Police wait for directions from the IGP or a Political Boss to investigate a complaint or a crime? There are high ranking officers in charge of divisions and do they fear to instruct investigations? Can the Police spoke person explain?

A national treasure ? assessment by an average person pretty much explains why the country is down on a one way trip to hellbent. Is this man worth killing ? Who is threatening him .... and WHY ??
