Heeanatyana Mahesh’s associate nabbed with firearms, ammunition

NEGOMBO (Daily Mirror) - A 25-year-old suspect, a close associate of underworld figure 'Heeanatyana Mahesh', who is operating from Dubai, has been arrested by the STF along with a T56 firearm and two pistols.

The STF said according to information received by the officers of the Special Task Force Gonahena camp, they conducted a raid last night at Kudapaduwa in Negombo.

During the raid, they arrested the suspect who was preparing to commit some crime.

Accordingly, the STF recovered a T56 weapon belonging to 'Heeanathyana Mahesh', 03 magazines and 87 rounds of ammunition, 8mm pistols and 15 rounds of ammunition for shotguns and two fake number plates.

The suspect, a resident of Negombo was handed over to the Negombo Police Station for further investigations.

Investigations revealed that the T56 weapon recovered from the suspect had been used to kill a father and two sons at a house in Minuwangoda recently.

Also, it was revealed that the firearm had been used for crimes and murders in the Southern and Western Provinces as well.
