Heavy rains above 50mm on the cards

Colombo, Dec. 24 (Daily Mirror) - Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is likely at some places in the Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Ratnapura districts, the Meteorology Department said.

According to the department, showers or thundershowers are expected at several locations in these areas after 2.00 p.m. 

Furthermore, a few showers may occur in the Uva Province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces as well as in the Kalutara, Badulla, Galle and Matara districts during the early morning hours.
