Nimal Siripala is finding ways yo make money. Ranil's government has abandoned the Mattala Airport, cancelled the Katunayake Airport expansion and now they are going to develop another Airport. Commissions and kickbacks would be the objective.

Far better than what MR did in his home town This make sense...people from many central provinces; northern province and eastern province can use this and it make sense to renew this oldest air port in SL .. What is the pressing need for the rapid upgrade of the Hingurakgoda domestic airport, entailing an expenditure of Rs. 17 billion, particularly amidst the current economic crisis? The distance between Katunayake and Hingurankgoda is a mere 180 kilometers, and there appears to be no urgent requirement justifying such a substantial allocation of funds. History has shown that when a corrupt minister is at the helm of the Ministry of Aviation, mismanagement tends to occur. Rather, the Katunayaka International Airport warrants greater attention and investment, as it is currently struggling to meet the demands of air travel. Upgrading and modernizing Katunayaka Airport should be prioritized, given the existing challenges faced by the Airport and Aviation sector. Government should know that people are closely watching every movement of the wheels and fishy deals done by the unscrupulous ministers to rob and abuse.
