The Ceylon Petroleum Private Bowser Owners Association (CPPBOA) said they have resumed fuel distribution in the country from this morning.
Association secretary Shantha Silva said they had halted fuel distribution yesterday on account of Vesak full moon poyaday and that they wanted to have a break from continous fuel distribution.
Therefore, the association advised the people not to stand in queues.
However, fuel for Western Province will be supplied after 7.00 am and fuel for other provinces will be sent after 12.00 noon, the secretary said.
He also said the diesel shipment that arrived yesterday and the unloading process will get underway today and distribution will resume accordingly.
However, it was reported that there is a shortage of Petrol with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) storage, but they have sufficient diesel. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
