Colombo, Jan 29 (Daily Mirror) - Former Army Commander General Daya Ratnayake has joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and has been appointed as the party’s senior advisor on state affairs, the Opposition Leader’s office said.
General Ratnayake obtained his membership and the party position from Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa.
He headed the infantry force of the Sri Lankan Army during the war against the LTTE and was responsible for rehabilitating ex-LTTE combatants.

Having good advisors in state affairs is of central importance for Premadasa's JVP, especially if a government and power takeover actually takes place! But that is by no means certain in the case of his party, especially since he is in no way convincing as a presidential candidate!!! He should jump over his shadow and make the party's candidate the man who knows how to convince and has all the prerequisites, both personal and political, to win the hearts of the people and the elections, Sarath Fonseka!!! No doubt General Ratnayake, now appointed Adviser on State Affairs, will also work well with Fonseka!

Gota's lacky joins SJB. Is SP indebted to GR? Did GR help the family out in any way? In mid-May 2022 this guy praised the defence approach before GR away from the country and resigned in July 2022.

Sajith must put forward Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka as the Presidential candidate.

He is going to contest separately as he sees the next president in the mirror, all the time. Nothing wrong.

You served with distinction in the Army. Now leave the dirty work to all the parasites who want to enter parliament and screw the public.
