The final decision on UNP leadership will be taken next Thursday, UNP General Secretary and MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today.

Meanwhile, UNP MP Dr. Harsha De Silva also said the party decided to finalise its leadership issue next Thursday.

“After the four-hour meeting of UNP MPs, it was decided to finalize the leadership issue next Thursday,” the MP tweeted.

He said UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe proposed a leadership council while MP Sajith Premadasa proposed a vote for one leader.

“I took minutes of the 33 MPs who spoke and the majority opted for a vote. Finally democracy!” he said.

Please change the name of UNP to United Ranil Party. Then bestow the leadership to a selected Ranil boot liker bunch.

once Karu Jayasooriya defeated from suranamali in parliamentary election and Ranil cannot face for presidential election which he had several opportunities was to be contest but,not contest because he did n't have faith for that now you are dilapidated. so let younger to contest and see the result. Help as consultant
