Failure to prevent Easter Sunday attacks: Judgment on Maithri’s appeal fixed for March 1

Colombo Civil Appellate High Court today fixed for March 1 to deliver its judgment regarding an appeal filed by former President Maithripala Sirisena who challenged the District Court's decision to reject his request that he be discharged from several civil lawsuits filed by the victims of Easter Sunday attacks.

Colombo Civil Appellate High Court two-judge-bench comprising Justice Frank Gunawardena and Justice Chamath Morayais reserved the judgment to be delivered on March 1.

The relatives of those who have died during the suicide bomb blasts took place in Colombo and individuals who injured had filed 108 lawsuits before Colombo District Court claiming compensations from former President Maithreepala Sirisena and several other defendants. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

This is good move . speed up and people must know it asp..the country is suffering from all these ineptitude of our politicians and judges must work independently from politics and government. That will bring justice to all. Judiciary is one of the fundamental institutions in this country . It must work away from politics so that justice can be done to all Equally
