Colombo, January 24 (Daily Mirror) - Extremely cold and dense foggy conditions have continued to affect the central hills, causing disruptions to public life and vehicular traffic.
For the past 24 days, the watershed areas on the western slopes of the central hills have experienced persistent cold weather and heavy fog, reducing visibility on major roads.
The Hatton-Nuwara Eliya and Hatton-Colombo main roads, along with several by-roads, have been particularly affected.
Traffic officers from the Hatton Police Division have urged drivers to exercise caution, maintain low speeds, and keep headlights on while navigating these foggy stretches.
In addition, frost has been reported in several areas of Nuwara Eliya, further intensifying the impact of the ongoing cold spell.
Authorities have warned residents and travelers to remain vigilant as these conditions are expected to continue in the coming days.
