The Nittambuwa Police have arrested a former Lieutenant of Sri Lanka Army for allegedly provoking the public by uploading a post on social media calling for damage to the homes of the officers of the armed forces and the police.

The Army said that the suspect was dismissed from the Army on January 29, 2020 due to misconduct while serving as a Lieutenant.

He joined the Army on October 29, 2010 and was dismissed from the Army on charges of forging the signature of his Commanding Officer.
