Colombo (Daily Mirror) - The eleven Sri Lankans belonging to two families who were stranded in Israel arrived in Egypt safely, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said today.
They said the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Cairo, in coordination with the Egyptian authorities and the Sri Lankan Representative in Ramallah facilitated the entry into Egypt of the 11 Sri Lankan nationals from two families who were stranded in the Gaza Strip, through the Rafah border crossing, which is 320 kms away from Cairo, on November 2, 2023.
A team of officials from the Embassy received the 11 Sri Lankans at the Egyptian side of the Rafah border and made arrangements to provide transport to Cairo to facilitate their return to Sri Lanka.
