Dengue death toll rises to 42

Colombo, July 8 (Daily Mirror) - The number of dengue-related deaths reported in Sri Lanka so far this year has climbed to 42, the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) said.

According to acting Director of the NDCU, Dr. Kapila Kannangara, a total of 63,835 dengue cases have been reported across the country to date.

He said 8,450 cases were recorded in July alone and added that special dengue control operations would continue over the next few days to curb the spread of the disease.
