Death toll due to severe weather climbs to 31



Colombo, Nov. 27 (Daily Mirror) - The prevailing adverse weather conditions have claimed 31 lives since 17 November, with the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reporting a spike in casualties over the past 48 hours.

According to the DMC, 20 of the deaths were recorded yesterday and today, as heavy rain, floods, landslides and strong winds continued to impact several districts. 

Another 10 individuals have been injured, while 14 people remain missing.

In light of the situation, rescue and relief operations are underway across affected areas.
