Cyclone likely to develop over Bay of Bengal today; more rains forecast

The atmospheric conditions in the Southeastern Bay of Bengal are expected to develop into a cyclone today, moving towards Bangladesh and Myanmar, the Meteorology Department said.

Due to these conditions, rains are likely in many parts of the island, over the next few days, they said. 

Strong winds and showers are expected especially in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North Western Provinces, the Department said.
