Court prevents SJB from carrying out disciplinary proceedings against Manusha, Harin

The district court of Nugegoda issued an enjoying order preventing Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa, General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara from carrying out any disciplinary proceedings against MPs Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando. 

"This enjoining order will be valid till 18 April 2023," Minister Harin Fernando said. 

"The main points considered by the District Judge were the plaint and the affidavit filed by Ranjith Maduma Bandara who sought relief before the District Court of Colombo in Case No.DSP 74/20.

Court held that Maduma Bandara’s membership of the UNP is stilll valid. The court therefore had  observed that holding of UNP membership by Madduma Bandara is violative of article 3.3 of the SJB Constitution," the minister added. (Yohan Perera)
