Colombo, Feb 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Matara Magistrate’s Court has issued an order for the arrest of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon over the Weligama shooting incident in 2023, police said today.

The order includes the arrest of seven other Colombo Crimes Division personnel.

The shooting took place near the W15 Hotel in Weligama, where a police officer was killed during an intervention.

Comment is free but you must know the Law to comment on it. There are bailable offences in our Law and anyone can be bailed if the Magistrate is satisfied. But the case continues - no joke about that.
