These union guys in SL is a big curse on everything. All they know is how to strike. All the time it is about salary, benefits or endless allowances. Can anyone please explain me how the salary and grading structure in SL public service work? They are always about some promotions, increments, and allowances etc. I would have thought once appointed for any job, your progression is based on performance and merit, not on seniority, and salary structure does not change for any other reason. Promotions should be on merit, and otherwise useless workers will end up being the boss on seniority. No wonder SL is in such a mess.

Right to strike is a UN convention, how can the court ban it?
