The Colombo Chief Magistrate today issued a warrant for the arrest of Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa for not being present in Court in connection with a case filed against him by Cinnamon Garden police.
The Cinnamon Garden police alleged that National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa and five others provided leadership to a protest which blocks the main roads at Bauddhaloka Mawatha in 2016, causing disturbance to the people and the normal flow of traffic.
Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa was not present before Court when the case came up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Take him along with the likes of Anura Kumara, Lal Kantha, Kumar Gunaratnam, the so called ánthare'' leaders, Joseph Stalin etc., etc., who always engage in the same ''offense'' which has become a real nuisance to the general public.

This will be his last journey to the parliament since he was exposed of his duplicity and also of his illegal earnings through politics.
Nihal Monday, 13 March 2023 01:43 PM
Wimal should be behind bar for various crimes. We need to get rid of this sort of politicians in future for good harmony amongst communities and building the country together as a developed country in South east Asia
Ram Monday, 13 March 2023 01:57 PM
He must be arrested ASAP before he surrenders to court

This is a man living with a international conspiracy phobia. Absolutely certain all his personal possessions (vehicles, phones, watches etc.) are not made in Sri Lanka. One of the characters in the system who has promoted ethnic and religious disharmony for his political mileage.

What a joke. Not guilty for major ones. He is shouting a lot these days and Mr wants to walk about. So this is one way of shutting him up. To say it plainly bullying tactics.
