Country’s foreign reserves increased up to USD 6.8 billion by December 31: Deputy Minister

Colombo, Feb. 3 (Daily Mirror) - The foreign reserves of the country have increased up to USD 6.8 billion by December 31, 2025, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Nishantha Jayaweera said today.

He revealed this in Parliament while responding to a question raised by MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.

MP Jayasekara said the foreign reserves stood at USD 6 billion when the National People's Power (NPP) took over the country and that it has reduced below USD 6 billion by now.

The Deputy Minister, who refuted the allegation, said that the foreign reserves of the country have increased up to USD 6.8 billion by December 31, 2025.
