Cop abetting ex-LTTE cadre to go abroad with forged documents arrested

The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) has arrested a Police Constable for assisting an ex-LTTE female member to travel abroad with forged documents.

It was reported that the suspect Constable had abetted the former LTTE cadre, a resident of Kokkadicholai, to create forged documents to an address in Wellawatte and to travel abroad.

This was revealed following the questioning of the woman who was arrested when she arrived in the country from abroad, the Police said.

The suspect Constable is reportedly attached to the Keselwatte Police Station. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
