Charith Abeysinghe remanded after failing to meet bail conditions

Colombo, July 28 (Daily Mirror) - Former Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Horana organiser Charith Abeysinghe was remanded once again after failing to satisfy the bail conditions imposed by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The court earlier granted bail to three suspects, including attorney Rakhitha Rajapaksha and Abeysinghe, who had been remanded over allegations of accepting a Rs. 120 million bribe from the wife of alleged underworld figure and suspected drug trafficker “Harak Kata”.

Attorney Rajapaksha and the third suspect were released after fulfilling the bail conditions.

However, Abeysinghe was taken back into remand custody after he failed to meet the conditions required for his release.
