The 22nd amendment to the Constitution draft Bill has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers today, Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said.

A very weak amendment. First executive presidency should be abolished. The elected parliament should have power with complete independence to judiciary.

We can have great chapters or paragraphs marked with great numbers in the constitution but as a nation we are beset with excess of power being exercised by president and cabinet consist of executive branch on one hand parliament as legislator on the other hand.Both prime minister and ministers are creatures of legislator as such there is no clear separation of power.what we need structural changes. What we hear and see gimmicks of empowerment of parliament or eye washing of masses with same bottle with a label change.
