CID grills Health Ministry Secretary

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror)- The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recorded a statement from the Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Janaka Sri Chandragupta.

This move comes in the wake of an alleged incident involving the import of substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the country.

The investigations are centered around Isolez Biotech, whose owner was recently arrested and subsequently remanded till November 15.

The individual is facing serious charges of supplying substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service was also questioned by the CID.

This case has raised concerns among authorities and the public alike, as the use of inferior medical products can pose significant risks to the health and safety of patients.

The question is how did the convicted company obtained the blood from the Blood Bank? Who authorised this? Arresting a small fish by the Police will not be enough. They shud go after the Big Fish who is behind this fraud to alleviate corruptions.

Was he grilled to well-done or medium to rare. These guys should have been behind bars. The poor people sacrifice their blood and a few such officials make a buck out of it by selling it to private hospitals.

surely their is a disciplinary and a legal dept in every ministry to act in favour and answerable and take disciplinary action to a minor staff upto the higher rank.Is it not advisable to contact this Division rather than finding fault with an individual person .Lot of time and money is saved.
