Colombo, Jan. 12 (Daily Mirror)- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is planning to hand over the proposals on the electricity tariff revision to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) today, CEB spokesman Noel Priyantha said.

He told the media that the final decision on electricity tariff revision will be announced by the PUCSL after following the due procedure.

He said the PUCSL has the authority to take the final decision on the tariff revision and that it will seek public consultations as per the PUCSL Act before announcing the tariff revision.

"The PUCSL has powers to study our proposal and take the final decision. The PUCSL will seek public consultations and make necessary amendments and announce the final tariff revision," he said.

The spokesman hinted that the general electricity consumers who consume electricity between the range of 0 to 30, 30 to 60 and 60 to 90 would benefit mostly from the tariff revision.
