Colombo, Jan. 23 (Daily Mirror) - The restructuring process of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), aimed at meeting the country’s future electricity requirements and achieving national development objectives, has reached its final stage, the CEB said.
While issuing statement CEB Deputy General Manager Noel Priyantha said that the process has been carried out following extensive consultations with all stakeholders in the electricity sector, with special emphasis on discussions with CEB employees and trade unions.
Concerns raised by employees, including issues related to welfare and demands, were discussed in detail, and authorities said all possible matters have been addressed as the process progressed.
In this backdrop, authorities expressed hope that the LANDA administration will continue to receive the support of all stakeholders including employees, consumers and particularly trade unions in advancing the restructuring process, stressing that the development of the electricity sector remains a key national priority.
