Colombo, Feb. 16 (Daily Mirror) - The breakdown of families in Sri Lanka is becoming an alarming situation in Sri Lanka, just like the rest of the world, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said.

Delivering a sermon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Kalutara, Cardinal Ranjith said marriage has become merely a game today.

"Marriages take place today as a result of people getting carried away by their feelings and external looks. This has paved the way for the breakdown of marriages," he said.

"Marriage is seen as a smaller unit of a community. Accordingly, communities are also destroyed by the breakdown of marriages," he added.
