Bowser carrying 30,000 litres of diesel topples in Haputale
A bowser transporting 30,000 litres of diesel from Trincomalee to Haputale petroleum storage had veered off the road and toppled at Panketiya this morning.
However the driver and others on board had escaped unhurt. The people who gathered were collecting split oil into cans.
The police had taken steps to transfer the stock of diesel into another bowser.
Investigations revealed that the bowser had skidded on the wet road and toppled.(Saman Palitha Nanayakkara)
