Beware of fake applications during fuel crisis: (CERT|CC)

The Computer Emergency Readiness Team Co-ordination Centre (CERT|CC) cautioned the public to be vigilant and beware of fake applications with the ongoing fuel crisis in the country these days.

They said several incidents involving theft of your personal information using fake links have been reported to the (CERT|CC) team.

"The criminals request you to get registered for a token for fuel and steal sensitive personal information (such as mobile phone numbers, vehicle registration numbers, identity card numbers, bank account details etc.,) during the fake registration process. Then the stolen personal information will be used for illegal activities and in some cases to create fake accounts on social media," the (CERT|CC) said.
