Batticoloa-Polonnaruwa main road closed till further notice
Colombo, Dec.29 (Daily Mirror) - The Batticoloa-Polonnaruwa main road was closed completely until further notice due to the opening of the sluice gates of Parakrama Samudra at 10 a.m., the Polonnaruwa Disaster Management Centre said.
The Kaduruwela Station Master said that a special train service from Kaduruwela railway station towards Manampitiya will be operated from 10.30 am to facilitate passengers travelling to Welikanda, Dimbulagala and Batticaloa.
Vehicles travelling towards Batticaloa can travel through Giritale, Elahera, Bakamoona and Dehi Attakandiya roads as an alternate route.
