Associates of gangster ’Pukudikanna’ arrested over shooting in Modara

Three accomplices of large-scale drug trafficker and underworld gangster Balachandran Pushparaj alias 'Pukudikanna' were arrested by the STF over a shooting incident in Modara where an individual was shot dead.

The suspects were arrested in the Grandpass area during a combing operation.

The STF said the suspects came in a motorcycle and a three-wheeler and had carried out the shooting in Modara on June 6. One person died during the shooting incident.

Investigations revealed that the shooting was carried out on the direction of gangster 'Pukudikanna'.

The arrested were aged 25, 29 and 37 and residents of Kimbula Ela, Kotahena and Grandpass areas.

They were handed over to the Modara Police for further interrogation.(DSB)
